“ART for CANCER” 2014 merupakan sebuah gerakan penggalangan dana dan program penyuluhan tentang kanker yang diselenggarakan oleh Yayasan Kanker Indonesia – Provinsi DKI Jakarta(YKI DKI). Dalam hal ini, YKI DKI mengadakan pameran seni di Kawasan Kota Tua dengan merepresentasikan konsep “Sakti” dari Bumi Purnati Indonesia, yaitu karya lima perupa Indonesia: Albert Yonathan Setyawan, Eko Nugroho, Entang Wiharso, Sri Astari (Rasjid) dan Titarubi yang pernah ditampilkan selama enam bulan di Paviliun Indonesia pada Pameran Seni Rupa Internasional ke 55 tahun di Venice Biennale.

Tujuan kegiatan “ART for CANCER” diharapkan dapat mewujudkan berdirinya sebuah Pusat Perawatan dan Pelatihan Paliatif (Palliative Care and Training Center) di Graha YKI-DKI, Sunter. Penyuluhan tentang kanker akan dilakukan secara berkala dalam upaya mendukung program edukasi YKI-DKI bagi masyarakat. “ART for CANCER” 2014 diharapkan merupakan awal sebuah rangkaian kegiatan di tahun 2014, yang kelak menjadi agenda tahunan bagi YKI DKI hingga 5 tahun mendatang.

artforcancer_____The “ART for CANCER ” 2014 exhibition is a fund- and awareness raising program about cancer. It is initiated by the Indonesian Cancer Foundation – DKI Jakarta and organized in cooperation with the DKI Jakarta government and Bumi Purnati Indonesia. The activity focuses on the concept of ” Sakti”‘ as presented through the works of five Indonesian artists: Albert Yonathan Setiawan, Eko Nugroho, Entang Wiharso, Sri Astari (Rasyid) and Titarubi in the Indonesia Pavilion during the 6-month long 55th Venice Biennale 2013.

It is hoped that the proceeds of the “ART for CANCER” exhibition will enable the establishment of a Training Center and Palliative Care at Graha YKI – Jakarta, Sunter. Counseling about cancer will be undertaken on a regular basis so as to support community education programs. The “ART for CANCER” exhibition 2014 is the beginning of a series of events in the Old Town area in 2014, which is planned to become an annual event for the YKI-DKI for up to 5 years.
