Jakarta Biennale is one of the biggest international contemporary art exhibitions in South East Asia. The 2015 edition involves 7 curators and 70 artists (individuals & groups). There are 42 artists from Indonesia and 28 from other countries.
The Jakarta Biennale 2015 is curated by Charles Esche (Scotland) and six emerging curators from Jakarta, Aceh, Surabaya, and Makassar – Irma Chantily, Asep Topan, Riksa Afiaty, Putra Hidayatullah, Benny Wicaksono, and Anwar ‘Jimpe’ Rachman.
The opening will feature performances by 7 artists:
Agung Kurniawan (Yogyakarta)
Etcétera (Buenos Aires, Valparaiso)
Fuady Keulayu (Banda Aceh)
Tisna Sanjaya (Bandung)
Jonas Sestakresna (Indonesia)
There will also be live music from
